11.5" Micro Flea for front yard flying*NOW WITH VIDEO!!*

First off a big THANK YOU to David Halko for designing the superfly delta wings. They are where I got my inspiration for what I call the "Micro Flea". He has given me permission to make this and possibly kit it. Also thank you to LEADFEATHER for firing me up on his HyperFlea clone thread.

How many of you would like a 11.5" wing span Delta wing, thats has a 21.8 gram AUW for your front yard? It performs much like the big guys with loops and rolls. Havnt tried inverted flight yet. It uses the ParkZone "brick", 7mm motor, 130mah full river single cell battery. You also need the Arcox mixer for the Tx to have elevon mixing because the stock Tx doesnt have this mixing ability.

If there is interest, I can hand cut the pieces to start with. If there is high interest, I will get them laser cut. It is made from 2mm Depron, few pieces of 6mm( theres a pod on the underside of wing that houses the rx and battery) and a top skin of "ironed" 2mm WallFoam.

Flight times with a single cell 130mah full river cell are around 7 minutes, using a Blue SS 7mm motor with AA prop.

**Let me know either here or by PM if you are interested**

Here is a picture of the one I am currently running through 7-8packs a day on. Shows some bumps and bruises, but takes a lickin and keeps on tickin!

Since I dont have a 2gr BL motor and need accessaries, Id like to see someone use it it this!

I like it

Several guys have done skeleton versions, but I like your "built up" version. Count me in as interested.

Anyone know of a good LIGHT way to make some control "cables" instead of using rods? I have to have the Rx mounted on the bottom so the mixing works correctly. If I used cables of some sort, I could mount the brick inside the wing and cross the cables to get the same affect.

I'm interested - how much?

I've got a BL setup on a vapor brick I'd like to try on something more stable than my modified Vapor.

When the kits are ready(a week or so) I would say around 20.00-25.00USD plus shipping. I dont have any CF or wire for zbends/figure4 set-up yet. I ran out I myself am using some wire and 1/16x1/16 balsa for control rods. LOL!!
Hope I can get some video up tonight or early tomorrow. Its hard to work on these kits because I just want to sit in the front and fly!

Im sure with a BL set-up this will have some serious vertical.

Awesome!

*just a note*

25.00 is for a unassembled airframe with NO electronics!

This will require a PZ radio set-up, Arcox mixer, Blue SS motor with aero Ace prop, 130mah FR cell.......or exchange the 7mm motor for a 2gr BL!! I think with a Bl motor it may need more than a front yard, but maybe not. It is quite floaty on low throttle.

I think it's really funny how at the exact same we both built 3ch fleas, lol! I just finished mine this morning and it flew awsome! Here's the thread for mine! https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...8#post12363015 I basically just used the plans for Leadfeather's Wee Flea and gave it elevons.

Nah! They would work perfect for combat!

New pics......

I really dont like the need for having my brick located on the bottom. It is the only way to have the mixing work correctly. Ideally it should be located inside the wing. Then I could lose the lower "pod" and lower runners that protect the control rods.

Maybe some others here would like to shed some light on it?

I think you can switch channels on the Arcox mixer so you should be able to use any orientation. Trims won't follow the channels so you'll need to deal with that.

Any idea on how to do this?

I have a version 2 mixer.

Last page of the instructions say, "For certain installations, it may be desirable to interchange the rudder and elevator servos. To accomplish this, hold the rudder stick to the right on power-up."
