i've always suspected that the Robbe Duo was made by the German maker Jaguar ??
My first engine was a Jaguar 2.5 cm3 and the spinner assembly and cylinder look so much the same...

Yes, I think also the manufacture was "Röhner Aparatebau".

Hi there, I have not seen the reed valve set up,(I have the front induction version) but I think some appropriate thickness shim stock would probably do the job.

Hard working examples


Here is my Silver Swallow 1.5
It serves controline and freeflight duty in a sterling manner
I even lend it , and got it back crashed last time , please forgive the slight mess ,,,, a Kerosine bath and a brass wire brush then a blow with compressed air will have it looking great ,please present your examples, rods through the block , snapped off mounting lugs and pliers on the fins all accepted in the name of flying duties , even mud caked crashes will be good

Does anyone know the origin of this crankcase, it has no numbers and it differs from standard Mk3. I am pretty sure it is an original engine, the standard of finish of internal parts is very high. The piston skirt is drilled for lightening and of course it starts and runs like a dream.

Nice engines those Tigers , but the ultimate to me anyway is the R150 or the Taipan 1.5 that David Owen may produce

Here is one I forgot I made a diesel head for it and that grub screw in the back of the head is pushing a delrin slug into the comp screw thread to give some resistance so it doesnt work loose , dont know the model of the Cox but it runs nice. Im partial to a Mk 17 Russian 1.5 , I think Meccoa have them

NX-687, that looks like a Cox .09 , but could be an .049. The .09 is good for an 8x4 prop.

Ennio, nice diesels. How about each engine by itself, top, front, side pictures and a few words about it. One engine per post over a few days. That way we all get lots of time to comment . Thanks.
