What does it cost to get one laser cut? Nice looking plane, very nice.

I think this one was about $75 including the laser cutting, wood, and shipping.

I'm still planning to get those drawings updated and posted but I'm pretty busy now with classes and everything. I will let you guys know when they are ready though (should be pretty soon). Thanks for the comments.

Hey guys,

I'm really sorry about the delay with the files. It turns out I'm a lot more busy than expected this quarter (finding a Master's thesis topic, TAing, classes, etc.), and I have almost no time to work on stuff like this. I'm still going to try to work on it if I get some time in the next couple months, but if I don't I'll definitely have some time over Thanksgiving break to update the files. That way you could still build one as a winter project if you're interested.

As for a laser cutter, check out manzanolaser.com. I've always had good service from them, and my files will be formatted according to their guidelines.

Yeah, actually I just finished up updating the kit. If you or anyone else would like the laser cut-files PM me your email address and I'll send them to you.

I never make plans or instructions because I don't need them and I have the CAD files to look at in case I forget where something goes, but you don't have that benefit, so I'll try to take some screen captures showing where the parts go, and I'm here if you want to ask me questions.

Email sent.

Here are some pictures to hopefully help with the build, but there will probably be more questions for clarifications since there are no instructions, which is fine.

So for this plane my setup is:

Lightflight RC Arc 28-47-3 Motor
Graupner CAM 8x6 Prop
Zippy 3S 2200 mah pack
Castle Thunderbird 36
HS-65s

You'll also need 1/8" diameter dowels for the leading edges and the elevator joiner, 1/32" balsa for sheeting the front of the wing, ailerons, and nose, CA hinges for the ailerons, and 8 3/16 x 1/16 rare earth magnets (can get them from stevensaero.com).

I think I said somewhere in this thread, I don't make plans because the parts for the most part fit together on their own without you having to assemble them over the plans. But I am giving out the .dxf file of the parts for laser cutting to those who request it.
