Well I am now the owner of a M5!

I went to my LHS to get a new M 5 and the lad in the shop sold me his for 130, so a good result! It needs a new tyre which has already been ordered from Formbys ( cheers Phil! ).

It has an metal main gear, orange metal lower front axle mounts, carbon effect
bars and swing arm, and to top it off a foam man that came from Graham! So all in all well happy!

It has a Reedy 19t motor in it but I have the new original should there be some stock racing going on!

Couple of questions:

Will my square Trackpower lipo's fit?

What gearing do you run on 19t and 10.5 brushless?

Classic minis rock!!
I have just seen the Duratrax branded version of this bike and it comes with a brushless system and a 2.4ghz radio to? it also looks slightly better just due to the stickers i think!
Might be better off getting one from Tower hobbies!

Thanks

Lee.

dont know if the lipo will fit, my ones are the scorpion type and thay fit
my one has 7.5 brushless geared metel spur size ? motor pin is 14 hope it helps

As to MX Bob Glad you like him, you can spray him or rub a colour in to him , but do not dip in paint it makes him to heavy.

Cheers Graham

Thanks Graham, what paint do you reckon will be ok?? I have loads of tamiya lexan paint?

I have done a few bits to it tonight, 2.4 radio gear, good clean, flipped forks round so the axle is facing forward, 5000wt diff oil on the forks.

Just need my new rear tyre to turn up and we are good to go!

I am going to try and use some M18T ali dampers as a steering damper but we shall see if they are long enough as they are fronts and a bit shorter than the rears.

Does anyone know if that Dark wheelie bar is for sale? or the Steve Bisco version??

Ran my bike yesterday with a new rear tire, the grass is a bit greener now, and man how much grip did I have so hard to keep front wheel down, but still great fun, still not sure about turning the front forks round, I only did it to stop the front wheel hitting the battery wires, but had more end over ends than ever with it set up! gyro still going well on the brushless set up. I take all my planes and Helis over the flying field but end up running the bike non stop, watching that suspension working never gets old as to the wheelie bar its still holding up well.

I own rc planes and im seriously thinking about getting a rc bike.Dont fancy a car as there not for me.Question is:

1.Would this be a good beginner bike?
2.Are they easy to repair?
3.Would sort of running time do you get from a battery?
4.How fast do they go?

many thanks

Ok I'll check on 2 wheel hobbies for the Dark metal version , if you do your own one Steve PM me.

Is it worth changing out the stock servo? I have a few spare Futaba 9206/9204 from my rally x cars.

In Answer to your questions,

1.Would this be a good beginner bike?
Yes, perfect, go anywhere, dead easy to drive.

2.Are they easy to repair?
Yes, such a simple chassis.

3.Would sort of running time do you get from a battery?
I get nearly 20 mins from a 3200mAh LiPo on kit motor.

4.How fast do they go?
Fast enough to start with, around 25mph kit.

I hope that helps Andy,

Well i would not worry about breaking the M5 mine has been doing 25foot long jumps and about 10 foot high with only a soldered wire coming of (and that was my fault) it has a brussless system in it with a 7.5 motor and it quick ,,, very quick.

The only thing Eddie and I have been through is spur gears, and that was on a a really high-traction hard-pack dirt track.
