Still killin it with my turbo Assassin! Beautiful flying this morning. I actually love flying this wing slow too, got the sidearm toss down now, and I even attempted to catch it, no go yet

I've tried catching my Widowmaker a couple of times but the foam is too bouncy for me to make a one handed catch. I'll get it though!

I gave up trying to catch. I'm too uncoordinated. The last time I tried it I nailed myself in the balls.
I think I'm doing it wrong

Life is better, when you fly.
Hey Left Coast DJ,

You could also just Velrco the mount on there. I got the idea from The Extreme Wing, http://www.extremewing.com/wing/?page_id=42
Actually, Lee told me about the Extreme Wing.

Anyway, you would be surprised what Velcro holds. I used to have even more straps than this but you don't really need them. And this is a 3000+ KV motor from Himax for the FunJet.

Basically, take one of the aileron tips, that got cutoff, and use it to build a base. Then cut a slot underneath and wrap velcro around the slot and around the motor.
You can use two straps. One strap to hold it tight, and the 2nd strap to keep the motor from yawing.

If you don't want to reverse the shaft in your in-runner, just put Velcro right on the motor and runs the straps around the motor.

With this setup you can experiment with lots of kinds of motors.

If you need more pics, let me know.

On another note, I have some friends in the LA and OC area with Assassins. I will be out there around X-mas for some combat if you want to fly with us.

Anyone else attach the motor mount on top rather than on the bottom? I really want to attach a Hobby King NTM Prop Drive 28-36 3000KV that I already have on my Widowmaker.

Why mount it from the top?
You can, but what does that buy you?

Attaching the motor mount on top gets me the space to attach the motor - which is designed to go behind the firewall rather than in front. I'd rather not mess with reversing the shaft on the motor if attaching mount on top will work.
