I have the two MM's 3mm & 6mm ready to print

1:52 and 1:47 print times ( est)

Now Color is needed IF you still want them or either printed.

Bought a couple of dozen of those on some long forgotten closeout for like a Dime each.
Wonderfully useful purchase.
Last thing I'd bother firing up MY printer for is some goofy engine mount.. which I could DIY better with 15 mins of hand work.
Rather than waiting / watching for an hour or more while the Foolish printer bungles yet another 'print'

High speed 'looking' ?

Why not low and high speed actual.

Anyone considered a 'swing wing' bird ? Variable sweep wings ?

(No not me, i'll stick with my nice slow eagle, post #191)

well that was fast.

i like the one on the left. hole spacing don't matter ' neither does color
probably 3mm to start
looks like someone else is looking for the same kind of mount.

Guys , this was never about making a “Bird" , but testing the wing shape … the reason we didn’t do head, eyes or feathers … I leave all that to you guys …

Honestly, I'd rather fire up the 3DP than buy more cheap chinese crap like those.

The Thingiverse offerings at least have the common sense
to spread the load over a wider area of foam.

Plus the 3DP versions would offer some bragging rights ;>}
If you don't want to DIY in wood then 3dp brings a bit of "Cool" to the table.

Welllllll, the down side of getting a FREE design from Thingiverse is that it
isnt tailored to our specific needs or desires. Free is worth every cent paid for it.

After doing a 1st test print of the 3mm spacing MM it turns out to
take 2 Hrs 10 mins to print but worse it weighs almost an ounce. 22.3 gms

The walls need to be thinner and possibly Lightening holed
as was done to the 6mm spacing version ( V2) . sigh ....

After over a year of 3dprinting I am accumulating quite a pile of
useless curiosities, conversation pieces and generally useless stuff.

But isnt THAT what the Word PLASTIC has come to imply ?

Ok, I whipped together a 14” EPP Bird just to see how it would be … Maybe a little too small unless you have some really LIGHT gear ( I don’t ) .. but with a small lump of clay on the nose it makes a dandy glider to chuck off the second story balcony … It weighs almost nothing , i think the nose clay is heavier than the airframe …

This is the same superlight EPP that is too floppy for anything else … but seeing this brings to mind a big semi-rigid Rogallo wing … which this fluff of EPP might actually work for. One idea leads to another , neverending eh … hahaha

I can’t wait for Hobby King to come out with tiny antigrav units … soon eh ???
