Grumman Albatross

This project began with a set of plans I picked from Ivan in the fall of 2007. After building the fuselage as per the plans I decided to sheet in the whole thing to ease the finishing challenges. The wing and tail group are also modified to accommodate" Robart's hinges. Powered by two Himax 3516-1100's C/W counter-rotating 10.4" x 6" Varioprops and two 3s2200Mah Lypoly batteries the final weight ended up at 106 ounces. No water rudder was used and steering is excellent using variable asymmetric thrust. Take off is effortless and flight characteristics are fabulous. Great Combination!

You certainly are a meticulous and talented builder Brian! I've put a link to this thread in the Ivan sticky.

The neat and tidy work shop is even more impressive than the model

Well done, Brian. The Albatross looks very nice.
