Goldberg Anniversary Piper Cub Kit (.40 glow)

Has any one done a electric conversion on this kit? I was given this very cool looking kit and i was just wondering before i buy a glow engine if any body had some other power options they could share for this kit? All the planes i have right now are electric and i am not sure if i want to go with a glow engine just yet. Any info will be helpful. I also did a search and came up empty handed.
Thanks,
Scott

You need to refine your search parameters. Found this in less than a minute.

There's a lot more out there.

I just converted mine and I put an E-flite Power 46. E-flite 60amp Pro ESC and am usint a Power Flight 4S4450 lipo. Still haven't made the maiden flight because of windy weather. I may drop down to 3 cells at 4400mah. Prop is a 13X8E APC.

Hope this helps.

Goldberg Cub conversion

Goldberg Anniversary Cub kit (old die cut kit)
Motor: HXT 50-65B-350 outrunner from Hobby City.
ESC: from Hobby City.
BEC: Dimension Engineering Sport BEC.
Prop: 14x10 APC E.
Battery: ZIPPY-R 2500mAh 21-35C 3S1P (using 2 3cell packs in series).
Weight: 7LBS with battery.

Maiden flight was 4 minutes on the new 2500 battery pack. Only used up about half the pack. Second flight was for 6 minutes at half throttle. Still had plenty of battery left.

Built Great Planes 40 size floats for it. Flew it off the water once. I was so nervous, I decided not to fly it off water again. It took me 9 months to build the Cub, and I don't want to crash it.

I build my own from Delrin (plastic) or aluminum, but you can by them from numerous online sources including McMaster Carr. Type in Standoffs and you will see a huge assortment of threaded and non-threaded standoffs available. I am not sure how much they charge for shipping, but they ship same day or next day.

I buy my standoffs from the local hardware store. Just go to the aisle where all the bulk screws are and check in those little blue cabinets. They are made of nylon and very strong.
BTW has anybody substituted the lite ply fuse with balsa?
