Typhoon flying pics

Hi Ladies,
few Pics from Denis Wittner in France.

According to Denis the Typhoon flies like a pussycat...fast as hell but slows to an amble for landing...

Cheers,

Hambone.

On the way Andy - only problem he's so addicted he's been at the slope for a week and shows no sign of ever returning!

Typhoon settings

Hi Andy and Co - here is what Denis is using on his Typhoon over the windswept hills of France:

These are a little strong for me but I dont know Denis' CG position.

here are the settings which i flow with.
i have nothing to measure the cg precisely now.

+ is movement down
- is movement up

ailerons +10 -17 (measured between the ailerons and flaps) with 20% expo
elevator +/- 10
Direction R/L 18

butterfly Flaps +40
ailerons -8
elevator correction +8

Thermic settings Flaps +3, ailerons +2, may need a correction on elevator, depend on flying habits

For the ailerons settings i havent feel the need of flying both ailerons and flaps, even when i flew it at 40kmh wind.

It was same for the Sunbird.

Thanks Denis!

James Hammond.

Hi James! I have just ordered this model, and I am a bit confused regarding which aileron servos to use. I understand that bays for the aileron servos are very shallow. I was thinking of using these ultra thin servos found on Hobbycity, but they might not be up to the task?

I have a few 10mm wing servos, will they suit in the flaps servo bays?

Hi Xvis - I use the very ones you show from Hobby City...they seem to work very well indeed.

I think 10mm ones might fit but you might need to push them forward a little.

Very skinny wing section out there due to the unusual wing planform.

You will love it when you fly it though...

Have fun,

James.

Thanks, I am looking forward to check out this model!

Is the flaps bay deep enough for a 'standard' 10mm wing servo, or do you use the smallest type for the whole wing?

Flap bay is OK for normal servos.
