Tony has everything he needs to be successful, in a plethora of abundance, and yet he still finds ever more cunning ways to destroy himself.

Beats the Sierra Hotel India Tango out of me.

Late to the party as usual.

What speed wind is required to fly a stock unballasted Typhoon 2m?

At least 10 mph at the coast, and higher minimums at inland slopes, with minimal control deflection.

I always fly mine (7 years now) with 4 ballast slugs on board, in anything from 8mph up to 35+. CG’d at 99mm from l.e., the trick is to keep it moving even when using up to 3mm of camber by trimming down elevator to keep the speed up. Great model!

Start with the CG at 95mm and wing/tail at 0-0. Make some nose weight removable, so you can take the CG back. 97 up to 100 is absolutely fine. Smaller elevator throw works best from 97-100. If you prefer a model to pull out of a fast dive by itself, stay around 97mm.

Thank you for the above advise. Strange how time flys, I never got around to my Typhoon. Still in the box.....it is (was) rtf.

Now that we are all at home, I have been flying Real Flight.

I found the Typhoon. I have been flying it in the simulator.

How closely does the simulator mimic the real Typhoon?

Haven't flown slope properly for a good few years, last outing was with the Typhoon off some cliffs when I was holiday about 4 years ago . I've been getting the urge to get back to the slope so decided to stick a rx in the Typhoon and in typical fashion I find a dead servo (elevator) when setting up HTF do servo's die when not used...beats me anyway. I've ordered a Savox as a direct replacement despite finding them pretty noisy but might look at replacing them in the near future so open to suggestions.
