Hi Giz - I'd ask Tony...

Hint...there may be a few non standard prototypes milling around quietly in Tony's shop...But I never told you that...

OK, so I'm three years late.....

Whilst you guys have all been up and flying ages ago,
I only managed to get my Phoon up on Sunday.

The wind was 25-30 km/h
As it was the maiden flight, it had no ballast in, but wow!!
She flew really well, and I'm looking forward to getting all the gremlins sorted.

Hi Tom - talk to Tony and see what he's got. I have one prototype whichj ios far from perfect, but again also completely serviceable for flying.

We are milling completely new master moulds right now, and we hope these might be finished by the middle of Feburary.

I am not sure 100% when we might see the real production planes, maybe in March, but as with the Schwing - we'll get it right first however long it takes.

Cheers,

James.

Ok guys, I'm building up a Typhoon for a friend and have a minor situation. Both of the elevator halves are very easy to slide on/off of the joining rods. They are not nearly secure enough that I would trust the friction fit to hold things together.

We were thinking that we could just pin the halves to the carbon joiner rod somehow.

Thoughts?

Just use some pritt stick on the carbon rod, it holds the tail firmly in place

http://www.amazon.com/Pritt-Stick-10...ds=pritt+stick

I guess if the tail is really loose on the joiner, you could wipe a bit of thin CA all over the rod with a bit of plastic and hit with kicker, any 'ridges' can be wet and dry'd off, but I've never needed anything other than the Pritt Stick myself

make the rods wider.
E.g with thin epoxy.

Bees wax on the joiner also works nicely and is readily available at lots of arts and crafts stores, like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
