I live in Belmont and have only started flying this year with the Hobby Champ then the UM T28 then the UM Polecat and now im onto the UMX Beast 3D which is still in one piece Ive also got the UMX Mig and Sbach 3D which are prepped and waiting for me to gain some skill for them. Ive been going down to my local park which is Centenary Park which has a cricket ground behind its lake and ive followed the rules about other people on the park and havent had a prob yet with anyone complaining. I put 3 batteries through the Beast this morning at the park and it was magic with very little breeze.

I googled Sutherlands Park and hope to get down there soon so i can meet some of you and learn a bit more.. I also have a HD video camera and a pretty good camera setup which i use for photographing birds in flight and now also rc birds. Pic is from Yokine park flyers meet.
Cool

That's quite a progression you've made in 12 months!

Well done and look forward to meeting you (when I finally get more than 5 minutes back in Perth)!!

Ive got a few planes already but i dont have the hat yet for sure and its one of the reasons i have to get with other flyers so im not learning bad habits without knowing it. I dont think im even at medium level yet and the only reason im flying the Beast is because the UM T28 went through 2 motors and ive been waiting for ages for some brushless bits to convert the T28 from HK. If i was to buy a 4 channel trainer now id get the PZ Archer thats just come out and i still might get it because i dig planes.
Easterly is still blowing out there but im going to take the Beast out anyway Its such a nice plane for me as a trainer and ive even fluked a couple of micro hovers but where it shines for me as a trainer is coming in to land and even with no power its easy to float in with a bit of speed and i stall it just above the ground and it just plops onto the deck.. Beginners thrills

Motrofly Motors

Ok I've foyund this place that sales the Motrofly brushless engines and they are quite cheap compair ed to what a mate paid for his bringing it in from the usa,

http://www.scmodels.com.au/electric-motors/index.html
this site I'm paying 60 odd bucks cheaper than what my m8 paid for the same motor and it includes postage.....whata bargain, check it out

Where was everyone Sunday morning?? Rocked up at 7am, no breeze. Had a fly of the Radian Pro. Then I had the need.... the need for speed.

First time in over 2 years, got my Parkzone Stryker up and moving.

Small video here out the back of the Stryker.

Bill's Cricket Wicket Landing

Quick (iPhone) video of Bill trying to land his very nice Hyperion Yak on one of the wickets at Sutherlands Reserve today.

Bit of fun after a nice mornings flying.
