That looks really nice! I don't mind the landing gear change at all. Do what works best for you. Mine keeps bending.

Thanks, landing gear is combination of lime wood D box like construction (hope translated well) plus foam. Carbon axle for tires...
Not tested in flight yet, but i think it would be nice...

I had maiden flight for about 1 min. Taking off is excellent (CG is perfect) but she dont listen to me in the air. The reason is too short rudder deflection plus my inexperience. Not damaged, except broken propeller. I need longer servo arms and few improvements to get perfect results.
All in all, very nice looking model (some of friends think is factory product) and hope will be flight great very soon.
Blue FFF im very grateful for plans and other support. Waiting for my real maiden flight and some report from field

Amater total,

I have a lot of control surface movement on my Cub rudder and elevator, so longer servo arms are a good idea or change the position of the wires in you control horns so they are closer to the pivot points. Either way will help. Sorry you did not have good control, but I am glad you did not crash too badly.

Finally, maiden flight with my instructor Zac. He is experinced pilot and fly my Cub like a joke. Model flying very well (Zac said: by itself ) and do some aerobatics too. I do few long circles on high altitude (because my flying skill is horrible for now), the takeoffs and landings was Zacīs duty.
Very happy with model, thanks once again Blue FFF !
Sorry, i do not have video

I'm glad you have a flight instructor and that the Cub is flying well for you. I'm sure you will be able to fly it soon by yourself.

Enjoy you new Cub!

Just made one crash kit for my Cub! The colour is not original but this (white) paint remains of my kitchen wall painting.

Looks nice. It's always good to have a spare fuse and wings. The fact that these planes are easy to make helps put me at ease when I fly, so I take more risks with the plane helping me to become a better pilot.

Good job amater total!

The weather today was windy and cloudy, but we (instructor, me and sons) did 3 flights anyway!

Nice photo, looks really good. What's that at the end of your lightning bolt? Can't quite make it out in the photo.

Just came home from summer hollidays.
At the end of lightning bolt is a sticker of lightmax logo (HK sent this with my latest purchase).

Regards, amater_total !

Hi Blue,
I have done as much as I can on the Acorn as far as mods go but I still think the original flew better.
Time now for a new build and I really fancy a Cub and yours is a nice one.
Going to make it from depron.
Let you know how I get on.

Hey John,

It's been awhile. I hope you are well. I think you'll like the Cub. It's an easy build and a good flyer.

Blue, I forgot and can't find the COG for the BB J3. I pulled mine out of storage, and made some floats, so I need the COG again. 25-30% of the Chord sound right? Thanks Charger.
