OK – nice R/C related thread. Here’s my take on it…Free market capitalism is the best way to enrich society and protect individual liberty. The beauty of it is that you can choose to create a socialistic group (commune, church etc.) and live under those rules if you want to but nobody should be subject to socialism if they choose not to be.
Socialism as a non-voluntary governmental system depends on looting the producers in order to fund “entitlements” for all. This necessarily infringes on the rights of those producers who do more of the funding and less of the receiving of entitlements. Socialism is evil in this way. A man's property should never be taken from him under coercion at the business end of a gun but that is the essential element of socialism. The US is experiencing this now as we transition from a liberty oriented free market to an oppressed socialistic society. On average we pay 40-50% of what we produce in taxes of all sorts.
You guys who wish for socialism are getting what you wish for but at the cost of your individual liberty. I cannot see how loosing liberty is good for people or families.
Anyway, back to RC - enjoy your planes now since under a socialistic world there will be no recreation except for the elites who get to set the rules. How many Soviet produced luxury or diversionary industries were there? What Soviet society members gave up their place in the bread line to get into the RC plane line? Socialism and communism are abominations against the freedom naturally bestowed on all men.
