Looking for scale P40 Warhawk pics/links

Hello,

I will soon be building an FFX P40 Warhawk model and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for links/pics of the P40 Warhawk to get ideas for finishing/painting the model.

thanks for the help

Hello skydog. I am getting ready to start a P-40E from Brian Taylor plans and found these sites as good resources. www.aircraftresourcecenter.com, these guys build plastic masterpieces and you can search for P-40ís and get a variety of built models. Or you can go into walk around and see a real P-40. The second site is where I am getting a lot of my references. This 1/32 scale model is as real as it gets. They also have pics. http://www.kithobbyist.com/p40warhaw.../whatsnew.htm. Also to get a lot of pictures of real P-40ís there is a site on the MSN search under P-40 Warhawk that is entitled P-40. A lot of good pictures.
Enjoy,

mrittinger that is a sweet looking plane

What kit is that built from? I am building an FFX P40, do you know what type of paint I could use that would hold up to flying/landings etc. I was told the Tamiya acrylics but the guy at the LHS said that the paint will not "move" with the model and I could possibly see cracks in the paint. Any advice would be appreciated

thanks again

Its from my own plan, that will be in next months Model Airplane News as a feature. Span is 42". Power is a geared Magnetic Mayhem and 10 cells.
I used OzCover Lite film painted with Rustoleum OD Camping paint, and Testors Model Masters spray can Dove Grey undersides.

I masked and sprayed the white first, then used trim material in red and black for the mouth. The "Lips" were hand painted afterwards. Testors red flat matchs monokote trim red very well to paint around the front where the curves are.
Beware that the FFX ships area little stretched, so it might take a little fudging of the mouth to get the look just right.I drew a lot of them till I got the closest to what I liked on The Old Exterminator of Capt Scott.
