Either one will work very well for you. Choose the Slick if you want to use 3S or 4s batteries up to about 2500-2700. Choose the Extra (or 55" Edge) if you want to use 4S-5S batteries 3200-4000mah. Big difference in total setup price there.

Ditto, both flies great. Just decide it on the setup availability and cost.

It's your money but I wouldn't use a HC motor.

ive used turnigys and they are pretty good. but i think i will go with the torque setup

Nothing wrong (IMO) saving your pennies X amount longer and getting known, verified quality.

For the most part, HC Batt (Zippies / Rhinos) are proven quantity. However HC motors are still an unknown quantity. So it all depends on how "brave" you are and how willing you'd be in loosing your plane over motor failure .

Reaper, Torque, Hackers, now they are all proven quantity, and setup as recommended, you should have a trouble free operation.

I've had several HC motors, seems like 5 out of 7 of them work very well.....I have one turnigy with a couple hundred flights, no problems. I've had a couple that wouldn't work. I've had a lot of trouble with the ESC, but great luck with the Zippy's

I have a 55" SHP with a GR 60 on zippy 4s, 4,000 mah that I really like to fly. It also handles the South Dakota winds fairly well compared to my 47" SR and Velox. My brother has a 51" Slick that is great too. I think the SHP might be a bit smoother and the Slick more violent.

I think once you get one, you'll end-up with both anyway.

ok, one thing im worried about with the slick is i want to use Rhino 2350mah 4s parks but it seems like the run time would not be good when its pulling 60a at full throttle.

From my understanding, it's not really a "full throttle" kind of plane.

neither is the shp for that matter

Plenty of us fly the Slick on 4S 2200 on a regular basis...not sure why it wouldn't work for you as well.

yes i know that, but even at half throttle it seems that the flight time wouldn't be that good
