the black foam is polireuthane fiiller, this type I was able to buy only at Fred Myer's departmenT store in Vancouver,WA - kind of hard to get. Very light and durable foam, it doesn't form large caveties like yellow foam.
When it is windy and you don't have 2nd chance to fly AP (think national park) it helps to remove winglets and have CPD4
here is another Stryker with modified Canon SD1000 pointed back, this way one can safely land on rocks with lens extended also all my cameras are remote controlled and powered off just before landing.
