Clean and quiet electric flight may be the future of the R/C hobby, come and see Piper Cubs, racers, helicopters, ect. Talk with experience pilots and see what actually works. This year’s special focuse is on solar powered propulsion, onboard video and Ornathoptors (flapping wing propulsion aircraft).

For RVF 2003 we are looking for special pilots and their special planes that have solar powered propulsion systems and onboard video systems. We would also like to invite those pilots that fly electric ornathoptors (flapping wing propulsion aircraft) to our electric meet. We are looking for flight demos.

RVF special guests (tentative)

#1 Dave Beck and his record breaking RC "solar solitude" solar powered aircraft with telemetry and video on board

Vendors: (tentative)

Accommodations: primitive camping and food available on-site no electricity or phones are available.

Camper rental availability: Wrights Cap & Camp will again offer R. V. rentals for the RVF weekend. Camper sleep 2 to 4 people, and may have heat, water, stove, fridge, 12 volt D.C. power lights, shower and toilet depending on type and size of camper. If you wish to bring a quiet 3,000 plus watt generator to run the air-conditioning for your reserve camper you may do so. Campers will be set up at the RVF field in advance ready to live in. Campers need to bring their own bedding, towels, eating and cooking utensils and maybe a couple of gallons of bottle water for drinking although there should be water in the camper for Flushing toilets and rince water. Reserve a camper early if you plan to camp as there are limited number of units available (5).or bring your own camper or tent if you wish. With three or four pilots the cost would be about the same as a motel room for three or four, since you bring your own food to the camper, reducing meal cost and mileage traveled to the hotel. Remember Night flying may be possible for campers Friday and Saturday night.

E-mail or call them and tell them that the rental is for the the River ValleyFlyers electric meet.
