I just received a set of templates from Justin. He was able to make them customized to my specifications without any problems. The phenolic material is awesome! I can't wait to start spitting out foam cores with these babies!

Keith, do you like phenolic better than formica? If so, why?
Thanks.....

Tom,
Phenolic pricing would be $10 more. It actually takes double the time to cut because it's just thick enough that my router bit does not like to cut it in one pass.

Edge and v4d vertical

Juzwuz,

OK. thanks for the heads up on formica vs. phenolic. I'll go with the formica. Can I get:

Edge 2Panel wing and Edge tail templates. Set the chord height to 7/8", I'm building some template holders and need a bit of room on the bottom for clamping them into the holder.

As to materials I've never used formica have always used that phenolic material but will go with what you think is best.

In addition to the above can you cut templates for the vertical using (z4d.dat), do you have the .dat file? I'd use the same planform as the Edge so same chord length as the Edge vertical templates.

Justin-

Can you duplicate profiles from a molded tail and make me a set of templates to allow me to make a similar bagged tail, WITHOUT destroying the sample tails??

I want to make a tail with slightly longer span, and lighter than the stockers (I hope).

Can you tell me the cost plus H&S to Buenos Aires, Argentina?

Can I pay with Paypal?

Target,
Sorry for the late reply. Didn't even see your post. I don't have a good way to duplicate an existing tail but it would be possible if someone had the proper equipment to take point cloud measurements. The easiest way would be to specify the airfoil and chord lengths and just make the airfoil templates.

I have since posting damaged a tail panel. It may be repairable, but also may just get sacrificed for the cause instead.
I might try to fill it with a epoxy/ microballoon slurry befor cutting it up and sending it to you for template production.
That would work, right?
The coordinates are not published.

Target,
If you can cut your tail in half at the root and put the end on a flat bed scanner, then e-mail the picture to me, I can probably convert that picture into an airfoil suitable for templates. I'll send you my e-mail through a PM.
