The Hacker A60-6XS I received did not come with a bolt on adapter. Is this an optional item?

No, it does not use a bolt on adapter, no need for one due to the design of the prop mount system. When you open the package, you will find a small "bushing" that you can slide onto the shaft (which goes all the way through the motor) if you need to move the prop out about 1/4", or you don't have to use it if you don't need it. If you are going to use the busing, slide it on first, if not, then slide the tapered collet onto the shaft then the prop thrust plate, the spinner back plate (if using a spinner), prop and nuts.... This is a very solid system with no slippage or run-out....

Thanks Steve.

I have another question in regards to the Samson. Is there instructions I missed on how to assemble the "cockpit Kit" I don't get it and my imagination is sorely lacking.

No, but as I remember, I had to cut one of the foam pieces to shorten it a bit to get it in...You can look at the pics I posted of mine (here) and see about where the dash goes. I took the position from photos of the real one....but it may be off a bit. As to the dash panel it just glues onto the dash.

I think I actually use 2 small screws that came with the kit to attach the instrument panel. It's packed for a fly in right now. I'll look at it later and let y'all know. I should take some pictures.

Ooops!! Yes, you are correct, it's been a while since I built mine and no longer have mine.

Did anyone else have a problem with the outer wings struts fitting? I have not glued in the aluminum mounts as yet, I just dried dry fitting everything to check the fit and the Starboard wing strut just does not fit smoothly with the wing. The Port side seems fine, any suggestions?

You have to play with them to make sure you have then "the right way" they look like they could fit about eight different ways, but only one is "right"

Howdy all,
I just got my 70e Samson. It'll be my winter project.
I've done a cursory search of this thread but can't really find my answer.
So here goes...
Has anyone added flying wires to their model?
All the pictures of a real Samson II have flying wires.
I was thinking of adding them during the assembly.
Anyhow... any input is welcome.
Thanks,
TB!

Anything is possible.....but nobody has posted any pics of having done it. All I can say is it takes long enough to put the plane together at the field without additional things to hook up....But, I'm sure it would look nice if done correctly.

As to being a winter project, I hope you have short winters as it just doesn't take that long to put together....

The way the interplane struts attach, the socket headed screws go in from the outside so it would be difficult to connect flying wires. You could use longer bolts then nuts on the inside.
You would probably want to leave it assembled for simplicity. I put the struts in the fuse and use an old servo box to hold the screws. It is stored in the fuse also. Yes I disassemble mine for transport and storage.

Should have the Samson in by the end of the week. Nice looking plane.

I was browsing some of the postings and was wondering the following;

1 - What is the CG that most of you have settled on?
2 - Any special precaution with the landing gear to consider?
3 - I will be using the Hyperion 4025-16 and was wondering which battery/prop combination has worked well specifically for mixed pattern and 3D

Thanks!

#1...At least 3/8" forward of suggested CG for first flight
#2..Land carefully...
#3..Can't comment on that motor..

#1 - What he said. Use a spinner to help get there.
#2 - Just don't pile it in. Keep a little power until touchdown.
#3 - I think I am flying an 18X10 on 6S 5,000.
