Political Philosophy Quiz

So, what are you?

According to your answers, your political philosophy is centrist.
Centrists favor selective government intervention and emphasize practical solutions to current problems. They tend to keep an open mind on new issues. Many centrists feel that government serves as a check on excessive liberty.

Your Personal Self-Government Score is 50%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 30%.

I too was surprised to be left-centrist; I had been wondering if the chart went far enough to the left to contain me. Until lately, I had never felt the need to protest a war, join the ACLU or write my representatives numerous times about the behavior of a President. I was worried that I had changed.

Now I realize that it's not me that's changed. It's the US government. I feel much better after this quiz.

I hesitate to indict the entire Government on the basis of a quick ten questions.

It would take at least twenty questions for me.

Anybody surprised?

Perhaps this explains my problems with the current system. We Libertarians have no real voice. In the current system you are Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative

A one-diminsional continuom of political ideology is pretty limiting. I recall a two dimensional grid that plots socialism vs. capitalism left-to-right, and authoritarianism vs. anarchism top-to-bottom.

I'll post a link if I can find it.

My goodness... so many on the left... no wonder we're having problems in America....

I came up as borderline between Conservative and Libertarian.

But I think the whole 10 questions are rigged.

I admit I didn't look at the initial link first, just assumed from the types of reported results that it was a linear continuom. Still, I found this one to be a bit less biased by pro-libertarian, and it maps recent world politicians for comparison:

I find myself slightly to the libertarian side of the test's center, and considerably to the right economically. I took this one some time ago, and have drifted a bit to the right. That's what I get for growing older and becoming more successful - I no longer look forward to Robin Hood's visits every April 15th.

Hmm. I think some of the questions are a little too complex, or badly written. A couple I couldn't tell what it was talking about. The one I posted was pretty accurate for me, but yours flipped my authoritarian/libertarian axis. But in the end it was still all close to the center :P

Surprised myself!
I feel that I'm middle-of-the-road (Centrist), but my score, Personal self-gov. = 80%, and Economic self-gov. = 70%, puts me well into libertarian territory, by this survey. Waddayaknow!
