Help!

RCM&E Zulu E free plan (february 2009)

Hi !
I really like the plan. I have this motor:Tower Pro 2409-12, the recommended motor is E-flite Park 480.
I really don´t understand to much about electric motors. I would like to know if my motor could fly this plane . I do sport flying (simple aerobatics).
Thanks, Paul.

I think you meant to click on the "new reply" button, rather then the "new thread" button. The new reply button lets you reply to a thread you're reading in. The new thread button starts a completely new thread.

Hey,

Here is a build thread for this model

http://www.modelflying.co.uk/forums/...s.asp?th=24106

Their free plans are a lot of fun and their build forums are helpfull, the designer even answers questions on the forums
I've built 2 planes from their magazine and the help via their website/forums was great, I learnt a lot

Ben, thanks for your anwer. I will try in this place also as you suggest
But my problem is that I really not understand well about electric engines. I have the engine detailed before and I would like to know if it could handle this plane.
Are you going to make also ?

Thanks again, Paul. (sorry for my bad english)

Hi Paul,
I'm not sure about your motor? does it have a KV rating, and a recommended prop size and an idea on what size model it suits? this would give you an idea.
I was thinking about building it but I have one kit to build and one arf still in its box aswell The zulu is a nice looking plane.
Your english is fine

b. 3 cell lipo: 9X4.5APC-E 9900RPM 10V 23.8A Thrust 960 gram ( Air pressure 76mmHg/25 degree)

I just checked the spec's for your motor, I'm not an expert but I would think you need a lower Kv motor that you can spin a larger prop with, after reading the Zulu-E spec's they state its an under 1.4 kg model, reading the motor spec's they state 805grams when using an 8x4 prop and 960 grams of thrust using a 9x4.5 prop.
your best bet would be to find a motor that has the same spec's as the park480 motor. The park 480 has a Kv rating of 1020kv.
I hope thats not too confusing, there maybe someone else on here that might be able to help.... I'm also a beginner

Thanks again for your efforts !!!

Maybe you are right and maybe I would need a better electric power set-up.

Is there a source for these free plans at less than their typical plans price of 19£ or similar pricing.
The Zulu E is a nice design, sorry I missed buying it at the news stand.
