Sapac L39 test flight and build pictures

Hi everyone I test flew one of the new L39s that I built
all I can say the performance was awesome for a stock 70mm bird
if you took a look at this plane you would think a 70mm EDF is too small
it had plenty of power ,,speeds where around around 125 mph or more
I was a little skeptical about the scale wing ,it looks kind of small
because other RC L39s out there have over size wings like pylon planes
to help with the wing loading
well I was wrong the planes wing loading was rock solid like the T45 hawk
it couldn't be any better ,,and to top it all off ,, the fans impeller was damaged with 2mm of small chunks missing from all the blades,,it happened when I ran the fan before test flight,I didn't tightened it hard enough and the impeller lodge its self in to the intake, didn't have another one,
I had a 15 to 20 mph cross wind take off was no problem
got some small vids

here is the power set up
motor Sapacs new black tornado 3200 kv out runner
=1055 watts 75 amps installed
battery Sapac new black tornado 25c 3500 4 cell Lipo
retracts Sapacs
ESC castle 80
servos HS55s ailerons and flaps and rudder + steering and valve
HS56 on elevator
Sapac L39 (1 min 13 sec)

OK the CG on mine is 60mm from the leading edge of the wing
the plane was a little nose heavy

did you use flaps on landing or take off?

It looked good. This 70mm version is quite a bit larger than my k&a composite l-39. So I bet even with a lot of watts ie...1400-2kw it will hit a wall at some point with speed.
Yours looked good. No flutter? No problems?? Hope not. Than that is a big plus.

Lav couldn't imagine 1400 watts ,it flys with plenty power and vertical at 1075
I thought I was going to get flutter on the elevators ,because this one had a carbon
rod system to link both elevators, the new one has a metal rod 200% better
also this plane sit,s up tooo high ,I will lower it about a 1/2" and move the wheel wells
apart so the wheels drop in,,next time I,ll try the flaps

This think looks great. Do you think it would fly off of grass with the retracts or would it be better to bungee and belly land it or neither?

keep the videos coming! Cant wait to see more of this great plane. Flaps should make a big difference on the landing speed , i hope!

Faster than I expected and that's a good thing! Looks very stable.
Got a radar gun?

Eddie it was good to meet you today at FLJETS. Thanks for all the info. I'll need more and I'm looking forward to you posting the build pics we spoke about. If I don't stay home and build this thing while your still in Lakeland.
