This patent will not affect you if you do not sell an airplane made using these methods and materials.
Patents only last 9 years(maybe 7?) anyway and are rarely extended.

I heard it was being used by the balsa growers association to drive up the demand for balsa. I also heard the bga was behind the big foam factory fire in china.

he may have been wrong on hitec but everything else is spot on.

and if you want true patent office stupidity then apple's "rectangle with rounded corners" takes the cake.
