I can not figure out from the site if the motor was on all the time or if it was a glider with short motor run and glide.

Giorgio's website is here: http://www.noskylimit.com/

And pictures of the distance record holding plane are here: http://www.noskylimit.com/index_files/page0022.htm

I'd say by reading the description from one of his other records (straight line distance by electric flight from mixed sources of power) that his motor ran the entire time, but it is unclear if that is truly the case for his record for recharable sources only.

You should be very proud of your own accomplishment! I'm sure with a little redesign you can beat the FAI record. As you say, you already own the South Africa record!

Do you have any pictures of your flight you can post here? We'd love to see them.

The flight was not done by myself but Piet Rheeders and the information and pictures is at the web site in first post. His motor run time was 6 minutes. I would think that any record with a F5J type of model should consider the motor time as well.

Hi Gert,

About two years ago a friend and I tried this out on a whim in early January down in the Karoo on the Steytlerville turn off off of the Graaff-Reinet road. We made about 27 odd km's before the lift died - just as well as there was a deep kloof up ahead.

Nice long straight road down a valley. Great fun!
