Tried something different today in applying solartex to the fully sheeted wing of the 195'. Well different for me... being an old traditionalist in using a monocote iron. Well in the process of covering the wing. After a good final sanding of the sheeting and use of a tak-rag. The wing received a good cote of Stits-Poly-Tak. Sanded lightly... removing fuzz & raised grain. Tak it again. I sealed and stretched around all the edges first. Using a new heat-gun, shrunk what remaining loose fabric there was... nice and tight. Then heated it again in small area's & using a cotton sock rubbed it all down. Talk about easy and nice results... beautiful. Wing 1 ready for some Nitrate dope.
So this pic is of a wing with the solartex on?? WOW if so thats amazing! I just received my Hostetler Stinson 108-3 plans and waiting on the woodkit from PCK. 6-8 weeks
! But its not like I don't have things that need to be finished up and this gives me time
! I have been following this thread for awhile and feel like any build question I could ever dream up already has been answered or touch'd upon! Thats awsome and you guys are very talented (Biggest understatement ever)..... O where do you purchase your solartex from ( like I said I'm sure these answers are in here but what the hay, While I'm here
) Do you find any warping that isn't "fixable" with standard methods with solartex??
