^Slightly bigger, and faster. There is also a thread on the new 2009 multiplex stuff somewhere around here.

It reminds me a Graupner Terry.

This should be a fun plane!

"Low Parts Count" = Over priced rip off

Tower Hobbies finally got the Merlin in stock and I was taking a close look at this as beginner EP Glider for my Grand-daughter..... UNTIL I had a close look at what you GET for the $79.99 street price. Basically nothing but a pile of Elipor and control wires!

They AREN'T EVEN providing the folding prop and spinner!!

Big Rip-off.

Sorry MPX, love a few of your planes, but this is a non-starter for me. This is like an foam RC Barry Obummer Stimulus Package ..... a lot of hype and little substance.

Going back to balsa
Best I can tell they dont have them yet. Am I missing somthing here. And your right the price is very steep, probably cost them about the same to stamp one those as a fox at $15 go figure. But I have had so much fun with my fox that I will pay for the merlin. After all your paying for the fun not the foam.

That's the recommended retail price, you'll probably see a few shops selling below that as they compete for the on-line orders.

However it does seem wrong that the merlin is priced the same as the EasyGlider, which is twice the size.

It does seem a little high-priced, when one considers the power package is an extra $110 (and then I'll still have to buy a battery). I wish they could have included a cheap brushed option to get going with.

Still, I'm looking forward to this one. Maybe I'll just build it as a pure glider at first...

I'm currently converting a Fox to my first "pure" glider. You don't get much in the box, but for $15 I'm not complaining!

I just heard about this plane on the All Things That Fly podcast and it sounded interesting. When I saw the price I just laughed.
