kpriddle ,

I've several of Dr. Diesels PAW motors and they run great ! I also have some plans of his , my favorite would be the Tony . A small diesel and one of his planes makes for a fuel and fly fun day . Big bang for a small price . You can fly all day on a half pint of fuel with the .03 motor . They are quiet compaired to glow motors , and you don't need a battery and a hand full of glow plugs ($7.00 to $10.00 apiece ) to have fun .

Mike,

I think I need to try diesel! Many people think that 1/2A is too expensive because of fuel and other reasons, but here's something I can use to refute their opinion. Do you know how much the diesels from Dr. Diesel's cost? If you do, could you PM them to me? If you think that Dr. Diesel wouldn't mind, you could post them.

Thanks,
KP

1/2A engines: http://www.brodak.com/shop.php?pageN...&CategoryID=62

Does anyone have an opinion to give about these engines? They sound like great options in place of Cox engines. Am I wrong?

And, of course: http://www.houseofbalsa.com/store/ho...BDT99UQM00b938

Yes, Brodak engines are made by CS (China) and they have about the same power as reedie. One above Cox though is that they come with a neat, bolt on muffler. The throttle is one of the best there is for 1/2A EXCEPT for the fact that they left off the adjustable airbleed. They will load up on idle if left there too long and transition will be ragged.

One downside is that they use a stock plug arrangement. Swapping in a Norvel .074 plug delivers an instant "free" 1500 RPM.

If you have the tools, you can take this one up to 19K on a 6X3 black Tornado prop.

As shown here,
RC engine modified Brodak .049 (0 min 57 sec)
