In the beginning I think there were issues with delivery. As I recall the people who did receive engines found them to operate as advertised.
The owner came across as a bit of a snake oil salesman and another RCU member, whose account was created shortly after the first post, attested to the quality of the product and disappeared shortly after the Micro-Flite thread was locked - seemed like he was a shill.

To really understand, you'll have to read the threads for yourself.

Edit: I just noticed that both the owner and his supporter last logged in within 9 days of each other, in Oct. 2005.

I wonder how many sold. Also wonder how many have been bought recently?

I doubt you'll be able to locate the manufacturer. IIRC, there was a phone number on the site --- you might give that a try to see if the engine is even in production.

The problem arose from the fact that the engine was hyped as the best thing since sliced bread on the forum, yet the seller would not, or could not, answer straight forward questions posed on the forum. Many of the forum regulars were quite experienced in small engine operation and performance and were not easily impressed by extravagent claims without substantive data. You would need to read the entire Microflite thread to see how it deteriorated from reasonable questioning to frustration to outright hostility.

The 1/2A forum in the other group is one of the most congenial and helpful forums there, but the Microflite thread generated more animosity directed toward one individual than I have ever seen before or after the thread.

Bipe Flier is too kind in his description as a "bit of a snake oil salesman". Whatever the quality of the product, the seller's actions damaged the product potential beyond repair.

Larry is an excellent gentleman to deal with. Aside from many speciality parts, the Galbreath head/NELSON plug combination is likely the best aftermarket head/plug that is available for COX, NORVEL and AP.

The head uses a tapered seat style plug, but not a turboplug -- it must be used with the NELSON plug specifically.

Excellent , after being out of the sport for a few years , it`s great to find a source like this thread to help catch me up to speed.
The local " hobby" shop is mostly "" E " flight stuff , and no 1/2A stuff at all. They mostly do heli and car stuff , kind of a general hobby store , not just an r/c shop. Every other hobby shop within an hours drive went out of business while I was out of the sport.
Who makes our fuel these days?
