Dean Marine News

Dear Modelers.
Deans Marine team have returned yesterday from the Nurnburg 2009 toy fair and celebrated 20 years of attending the premier show.
It was a good party and some looked a bit rough the next day. (see pics) some came to work from same party still in the flower power 60s clothes. even the German police came, with handcuffs? (bit of a wind up)
We had on show 20 new models, plus new props, shafts, fittings, figures.
If there is enough interest we will add some pics and details in sections to not take up to much space in one big go on this excellent site.

No problem, we want news! (and pictures!) Or at least a link to news on your site.

What is that fishing boat in the 3rd picture????

I agree with patmat2350.

I would be interested in that small steam tug beneath the MV Tradition (top row, second from right). Size? Scale?

Very nice! Thanks for sharing!

On another topic, I was wondering whether Dean Marine had a list of your updated kits -- I mean the ones that have been "modernized". These were selections that you have had for years, but you've updated them.

I'm looking at some of your 1/96 selections and would like to stick with a modernized kit.

Is this your hobby or business only? Love to see pics of the boats in the water,, but if your just advertising your new wares, perhaps this excellent site should be paid for advertising.

AJ- I'm sure the site would like another advertiser! But per their own rules (see at bottom of page), it's not required:

Excessive advertising (Spam) We allow one advertisement per week per forum per user. An Advertisement is any media which persuades the viewer to take an action. The classified ads area is exempt from this rule.

Excessive Advertising (Overcompetition) Vendors may freely respond to any questions that are asked, but are prohibited from heavy participation in competitor's threads and may not seek to detour discussions toward their own products.

I welcome such info from any source...

Dear Modellers
Thank you for your interest, we will add new to this thread to keep you up to date.
As the question was raised in this thread, we are Deans Marine a company that produce model boats kits over the past 29 years. We like to make it VERY clear who we are, and do not try to hide behind a false name or pass comments on any other company.
We expect the shops in all the countries we supply, to arrange their own advertising for our products in model magazines and on the internet, this works in most countries but does not seem to be very prevalent in the USA. We would think that it would be a good idea to tell your prospective customers what you have to sell, if you have it.
Toy fairs
We show new models at Nurnburg, Dortmund, and the shows in the UK, If there is enough interest and orders from the model shops. and feedback from the customers we will arrange to fit the kits in to the production schedule, if not, the models go back in to store until a later date when fashions may change, or the kit is redisigned to add more detail, or reduce the price or complexity, again depending on feeback.
A model that is shown at a show is a not promise that it will be put in to production.
If you like a particular model, tell us, we do not seem to get the feedback from the shops or customers in the USA.
Please enjoy, more to follow
