Cover the wing and the ailerons with colored packing tape, then use this method to hinge them. It will give you an invisible full length hinge that will last forever. I have never had one fail or wear out.

Well it is not super cheap that is for sure. However it does adhere well. The other color will be a cream color with Coverlite, also and iron covering, I had left over from previous build. I'm pretty new to iron on covering and there is some technique to it that is for sure. Ailerons are next.

A lot of the scratchbuilt foamie builders are using colored package sealing tape like you get here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-Rolls-Pack...30214153313426 That is about 2 mil or so in thickness and is applied in strips with a little overlap. Judged from 10 feet or more it is marvelous and effective. It adheres well to the foam that have a plastic membrane on one side, for bare foam we spray a costing of 3M 77 (expensive) Duro (cheap) aerosol spray adhesive on the area to be taped. I also use it for hinges and it works very well for that too. Full length, sealed hinge line, almost invisible, lasts forever... Jack |
