New Multiplex Models 2009: MERLIN and XENO

Multiplex is at it again adding to their wonderful line of durable and affordable Elapor Foam models. There is the Merlin which appears to be similar in format to the Easy Glider but smaller and sportier. Then there is the Xeno which is a molded wing type of model. Check out the pictures!

NOTE: This is the SLOPE SOARING forum and although motorized gliders can and are used on the slope, blatant thread jacking by individuals wanting to discuss power systems, flat field flying or whining about Multiplex misrepresentation will be reported. Don't be rude and hijack this thread; open your own thread in the Electric Glider or the Multiplex Support (for those who want to bitch and complain about the product itself) forums if you desire.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Thanks for the heads-up, DT

The merlin looks like a nice easyglider with a cularis tail...
The Xeno looks like a manta ray, very nice lines.

Sadly, probably never I suspect - they don't seem to have been intersted in anythign other than foam since they sold all the "old" lines to Tangent.

New pics....

I spied some actual pics of the upcoming MERLIN and XENO at what appears to be a recent European trade show. We should have lots of more pics and info about these model after the upcoming Nuremberg Toy Expo early next month.

Interesting solution on the motor with drive shaft. They might have stolen an idea from the boating department.

From what I understand, the entire drive pod can be swapped out for just a fairing for the slope version; gives you the best of both worlds.

Wow, that Xeno is very similar to that old Zagi Fixx... hopefully better performance though.
