Mini Paragon sailplane build
Hello fellow Sub 250g glider guiders! This build was inspired by the Mini Wanderer that I own. It made me fall in love with the simplicity and quick setup of the smaller sailplanes. A few years ago I made a 2 meter version of the Paragon, and want to scale it down more. This particular model will be a 45 percent scale of the original, so 53". A sub 250g weight is the magic number, so light building will be key.
Step 1 was to print out the plans from outerzone at this scale, and do some reworking. Warning! There will be a winch in the nose. Its too convenient to not. Ok, lets get into the build! |
Tail Feathers
1 Attachment(s)
The tail will be made from 3/32" balsa. I kept the original scale outlines, and made the parts more sheet balsa friendly. Cutting everything by hand shouldn't take long given the low parts count. I will cut everything out tonight so stay tuned for an update...

All the tail pieces are cut out and ready for assembly. Tomorrow sometime I will get those together and check back in.

Theyre assembled! They went together very well, and i couldn't be happier. Here's a picture of the raw assembly. I will sand them right before covering. When that'll happen in the big picture is to be determined.
