Introduction F5J kit : building, testing, flying

39 Attachment(s)
My next project is to build Introduction F5J. First a lot of pictures of the wonderful kit. For moment I study this kit.

On short in 7 minute that sumarize 5 month of work for twin gliders and first tests of flight ...

My Introduction F5J story (7 min 8 sec)

My Introduction F5J story: build two gliders in 5 month, from november to march. Configuration of twins: motor XPower F2915/12 F5J XLIGHT, ESC Flycolor 40A, UBEC 6A/5V, battery 1400 mAh, 3S, 40C, 10"X6" carbon.

0 - 3:54 Building ; 3:54 - 5:39 First test of gliding ; 5:39 - 7:07 First test flight with motor for 4 seconds.

A video summary for those who do not have the patience to follow this whole thread: from the beginning, the receipt of the kit and until the first flight. On the first glider I followed the manual as best I could, but on the second I used the experience I gained and combined certain steps. For this reason I preferred to include all the pictures during the construction. The first tests with hand launch followed, and finally a launch using the engine.

It's a great kit and you will enjoy building it as much as flying it.

I find best tool for cut : a shaving blade ! The best. When you cut the small islands off the board, you can hear a clear sound and feel it in your hand.

I make some part like H28 and H26, my self, from plywood 4 mm, because if you buy stabilisator like spare part you don't receive pieces from plywood. No problem, but good to know. I continue ...

After a few attempts to make a jig for the two parts of the fuselage, I came to the conclusion that method of overlapping their is the best.
