tomtom2024 Everytime I flew I needed to glue. Eventually it hit hard.

The struds are broken 3 times. The left wing also on and bottom from main fuselage and even the aileron piece. Love the plane but eflite’s foam is the crappiest of any plane I owned.

Not sure if I should rebuild it with carbon, fiber glass tape and some foam parts. Replacement wings aren’t available anymore.

Or if I should salvage it to use the s2 parts for my xk comic f4u (but without safe not sure if it will fly too well)

turboparker For 2s, I use Roger's TP 325 BabbelBatts. Best 2s UMX packs you can buy: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...31-BabbelBatts

I"ve been thinking about this as well - my old Hyperions 240s from my original Beast 3D are all shot even though they were stored at storage voltage and never discharged below 20%. They will fly the plane level but lack the power to climb.

I can't get any smaller high quality 2s li-pos around here any more - not even 300mAh which used to be very common. I can get "mylipo.de" 1 cell batteries here though with PH2.0 plugs and I have considered heat-shrinking some 205 mah cells together and making a 2-into-1 harness like you show. The PH2.0 plugs aren't that great and wear out over time, but they are still a big improvement over the typical HH 1s plug. It will at least be a cheap way to see if my recent NIB Beast 3D score is suited to my current flying spot...

If it works, go for it!

I've flown my 2300Kv & 2500Kv equipped B3Ds on 3s nearly exclusively. I put a GWS 5030 2-blade on the 2500Kv & a GWS 5043 2-blade on the 2300Kv. I've never experienced an over-temp or over-current condition, even after hundreds of flights on 3s. But then....I live in MN. Hottest wx I've flown 'em in on 3s is probably in the high 80F range.

mdxp67 There should not be any elevator back pressure when flying. The elevator should be trimmed handsfree. You should be able to maintain straight and level flight without touching the tx.
CG position affects the agility and stability. Aftwards CG means more responsiveness and less stability.

The battery placement in my pics--yep went flying and found that they could go back a little more . Maybe even flush with the back of the battery bay. I have a habit of holding back pressure on elevator, when flying, when I relieve that back pressure, instead of level flight I get nose drop. So, if i stop with the back pressure on elevator habit and move the battery back, I should get a neutral C of G and un-lock more flying performance from the Beast. Not a bad purchase - $50 BNIB

kevin whitesell Hiya Gents - picked-up a B.N.I.B. UMX-BEAST at a club swap meet for $50. The stock 180mah was dead.I have a pocket full of 280mah s that weigh just 3 g s more.I think I should be good with these to ball-park C of G , I cut out that little flange on the inside of cowl as I could not move the 280s back to balance

Get a few of Roger's TP 325 BabbelBatts for 2s! Roger makes the best UMX packs you can buy anywhere!

Here's his batt thread: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...31-BabbelBatts

If yours is a V1 (before the UMX Beast 3D & before AS3X), I'd suggest sticking with 2s packs. The pre-AS3X V1 will handle 3s - but without AS3X, the plane is a handful on 3s.

This is a good problem to have!

I have just bought one recently in very good condition but it makes me a bit hesitant to fly it - I wish it could spend a few nights at your place as well so I could have a couple of spares!
