JLB J3SPEED Backyard Bash Session: WICKED FUN!! (4 min 54 sec)

It's meant to be for speed, but the JLB J3SPEED can bash too! I took it out after my last speed run for a little backyard bash session. The car handles great and likes to fly through the air. Hope you enjoy it.

HBX Thunder First Bash and Speed Test (6 min 13 sec)

Took the HBX Dune Thunder out for its first bash and speed test . Overall, I found this to be a fun 1/12 scale RC to run. It is well balanced and handles well on cement and in the grass. My 11 year old niece also helped me with some of the driving footage and she loved it. They have a 2WD Ruckus...but I'm pretty sure that her enjoyment of this came from it being 4WD and easier to handle. Enjoy!

Post-Apocalyptic RC Monster Truck Body by Bucks Unique Customs (10 min 38 sec)

I am so excited about this new body created by my buddy Buck. He knocked it out of the park with this paint job and his custom accessories he made to tie it altogether. Buck has joined me on a couple of live hangouts on YouTube and reached out to me about the custom work he was doing. After seeing his rigs on Instagram, I knew I had to have one as well. At first I was going to do it with one of my crawlers, but as I’ve tried to find a replacement body for my Ground Pounder, I realized this would be a good fit for his talents. Be sure to check out it his other work and sub his channels and then let us know what you think.

4wd Feiyue FY07 Desert Eagle 1/12 Scale RC Rock Racer - Unboxing, Speed Test & Bashing (21 min 4 sec)

Ok! So Gearbest just sent me the new FY07 Desert Eagle to review for you guys.Get some popcorn, because we do it all for you in this video: Unboxing, Speed Test, Bashing, and First Impression. I could go either way about the last Feiyue they sent - the FY-10 - mainly because the transmitter range was so bad on the one I received. This experience was the exact opposite.

From the "get-go" I really enjoyed driving this RC. It's definitely still not the quality of my name brand 1/10 scale vehicles, but it's definitely a much better build than RCs you'll pick up at a big box store. I like that it has metal diffs and a brushless motor. The tires felt good to me, but I'd like to upgrade the shocks and driveshafts. I was a little bummed when I lost the screw for the driveshaft, but that turned out to be an easy enough fix using a screw I had already sitting loose on the workbench. It doesn't really affect my review because that happens all the time with RTR RCs.

Overall, the top speed didn't bother me. It felt good for this size car. I'll probably see if it can handle 3S and what that looks like. So far, I'm pleased with this RC and really like the looks of it.

JLB Cheetah Extreme 120A Edition 11101 - 4WD Brushless RC Monster Truck RTR Unboxing (13 min 23 sec)

I've got the JLB Cheetah Extreme on the bench for an in-depth unboxing of this 120A 4WD Brushless RC monster truck.
So many of you have asked for my opinion on the original JLB Cheetah 11101, but I haven't been able to offer an advice. That has changed! Gearbest sent me the Cheetah Extreme 120A ESC version of this beast to review for you. I think I'm going to dig it.
Overall, it looks very similar to the JLB 21101 - except IMHO it looks better. I prefer the truck style body of this Cheetah and the lack of the tail fin that just breaks off the 21101 way too easily. This comes with the FlySky transmitter and receiver, so it should have some decent range to run that 120A powered 2500kv brushless motor.
-Tony

SPECS FROM GEARBEST SITE:

The new JLB Racing 11101 CHEETACH features the more powerful HOBBYWING 120A brushless ESC and FLYSKY FS - GT2E pistol-grip transmitter. Therefore, you are able to drive to your heart's content by advancing at the highest speed and going much farther.
The exceptional 3670 2500KV brushless motor and the 15kg high torque servo guarantee the wonderful vehicle handling of the JLB Racing 11101 CHEETACH truggu. In addition, the 4000mAh high-capacity LiPo allows you to drive continuously for more than half an hour.

Main Features:
● Top configuration - 3670 2500KV brushless motor, HOBBYWING 120A brushless ESC,...Continue Reading

DHK Maximus Goes MAX BASH At The BMX Trails (4 min 9 sec)

Tough as nails. Great Control. Dirt Thrower. Ok guys, let's talk DHK Maximus bashing. This truck is nuts! It stomped all over the IPSWITCH BMX trails and wanted more. I want to say I beat it up, but it wouldn't even let me beat it too bad because it would right itself. Even landing on all fours from that height could destroy some cars, but not this guy. If that wasn't enough, I cartwheeled it pretty hard too. Overall, I fell like the tires were great, the suspension could use tuning to reduce chassis slap, the truck was stable in corners and flew straight when you line up the jumps right. Had a blast and will take it back again very soon. Just need to readjust the pinion/slipper mesh as the motor did slip from all the abuse.

$165 4WD Brushless 1/10th Scale Truggy: ZD Racing 10423 Thunder (13 min 32 sec)

Looking for an inexpensive first RC that has a brushless motor, can jump and has decent speed? Look no further!
The ZD Racing Thunder 10423 Truggy is a good option that won't break the bank...
Or if you like monster trucks, the ZD Racing Thunder Monster truck delivers the same punch with a little bit different styling.

I am excited about this RC car. Based on what you get for the price, this might be one of the best value RCs I've seen. It's 1/10th scale, goes 25mph completely stock with the included 2S LiPo battery. At the time of this edit, I've already driven the RC and was very impressed. I'll be editing it right after posting this video. The speed felt great, it was quick enough to handle jumps and run through my thick grass. This is definitely one I would look at in the "under $200" price point. Can't wait to share the next video with you. It'll be up soon.

CCxRC StickerBomb: An Upgraded Axial SMT10 Grave Digger (1 min 45 sec)

I just upgraded my already upgraded Axial SMT10 by adding MIP XD Driveshafts. Once I went to the Castle Sidewinder SV3 system in the truck, I started destroying the stock plastic driveshafts.

I'm not running the brushless system with a steel spur gear, Savox Waterproof High Torque servo, hot racing steering links and steel transmission gears on JConcepts tires and rims. It's looking and running good, so I thought I'd bash it around the yard a little for you.I think the next upgrade will be the shocks. Enjoy!

JLB 21101 Extreme Goes HUGE! Triple Backflip Action (6 min 50 sec)

Took the JLB 21101 Extreme out for big air bash session and gave it an epic beating. Pulled off a couple of triple backflips and a bunch of other flips that weren't picked up well buy the sloppy camera work I did while driving (it's not as easy as you'd think). This is the 120A ESC Version of the JLB 21101. Hope you enjoy it.

2017 RC Monster Truck World Finals at Grave Digger's Dungeon - Qualifying (4 min 13 sec)

After years of wanting to attend, I've finally made it to the RC Monster Truck World Finals down at Grave Digger's Dungeon. Yesterday was the qualifying and it was a long day because there are so many trucks registered for it this year - over 600 trucks. My boys and I rolled in late Thursday night to set up camp and avoid possible traffic from the Memorial Day weekend crowd that loves to go to OBX. It had rained really hard that evening before we left and we arrived to swamp-like conditions. After talking to a bunch of people and being told we couldn't park in a few spots, we finally braved the muddy open field and hoped we didn't get stuck (but if we did get stuck...there'd definitely be something there that could pull us out)

Turns out that we ended up with one of the best spots on the grounds and our RV door opened right up to a close view of the track. So when the awning was out, we had a great "pit" area to work on cars but keep watching the action. It was also in front of the speaker, so we heard all the action...when the mobs of generators weren't running. I've never run any of my RCs in a race. So this was my first time racing and working as a corner marshal. I honestly didn't do either very well. because the track ran each lane multiple ways, it was definitely a trickier first time to race and marshal.

Qualifying started late because the track...Continue Reading

The Traxxas TRX-4 Has Arrived! In-Depth Unboxing Of Their RC Land Rover Defender D110 (20 min 34 sec)

Yes! I finally got my Land Rover Defender RC!! I have been holding out purchasing the RC4WD version because I kept finding other RCs to get instead, but I've wanted to get a decent handling Defender. The GMADE one that I built isn't very capable because I haven't come up with a good way to affix the body to the chassis. Plus, I wanted the metal roof rack with ladder that adds a lot of weight to the top.
I pre-ordered my TRX-4 and have been looking forward to it ever since. Watch the video to check out the Portal Axles and get an in-depth look at the truck.

Redcat Ground Pounder First Bash On 3S LiPo - RC Shock Therapy Monster Truck (2 min 15 sec)

I took the Redcat Ground Pounder Amsoil Shock Therapy monster truck out for its first bash. It is completely stock with a 3s LiPo battery to give it some extra punch and speed. The 4 wheel steering was harder than I expected to get used to. It was super cool though. The added speed of the 3S didn't help with the 4 wheel steer control. The run ended when one of the wheel nuts came off because I had only hand tightened them for the unboxing. Oops!!!

KingKong 210GT RTF Unboxing (9 min 10 sec)

This is one sexy drone. The red and carbon fiber make it look like a Ferrari. For an RTF at this price it comes with good components and appears that it would make a great starter drone. It's running 20amp Blheli Opto ESCs, a 600mw VTX, 700TVL f/2.8 IR blocked camera, an F3 flight controller and has 2205 2300kv brushless motors. So I have high hopes for it. I'll be getting it out for a first flight very soon. Specs are below.

Redcat Ground Pounder Amsoil Monster Truck Unboxing (7 min 53 sec)

You asked for a Redcat RC and here one is. I didn't plan to get one this quickly, but I saw it on the shelf and couldn't help myself. The low price for the features helped make my decision of this over the Axial SMT Grave Digger. I plan to upgrade it to a brushless system and then re-work the RTR components to handle it.

Nikon Keymission 360° VR Drone Rig (3 min 8 sec)

I'm always looking to innovate. Got into VR recording early on and am now trying to take it to a new level - literally and figuratively. I've been researching ways to mount my VR camera to a DJI Phantom for a while and have had trouble finding a good solution. I decided to just go for it today. I started by looking at simple ways to mock it up so I could make a model to 3D print. Here's what I found to start with today.

Killed A Brand New RC Car In Under 5 Minutes!!! DRIVER ERROR. oops. (1 min 45 sec)

Well that was unfortunate! I think I killed the ZD Racing 08425 in under 5 minutes of running. I took it out late last night to rip around the yard and found it to handle really well and it was relatively quick. I didn't see the water in that area of the BMX park because it was a ice and I didn't have a good angle to recognize the potential problem. I've got it drying out and hope it starts up again when it dries so I can show you how well it performs. All that was working after taking a bath was the steering...so some power was getting through. Fingers crossed. This video doesn't really last long enough to show you how well it handles. Ugh.

Stuff happens...and it happens to everyone. Funny that I mentioned in the unboxing that it didn't look waterproof and then put it in the drink so quickly. Trying to do too much at one time. There is definitely a lot of control when trying to film and drive at the same time.

ZD Racing 08425 Unboxing: 1/8 Scale 4WD Brushless Buggy Under $225 (10 min 16 sec)

Another budget brushless RC has hit the bench - the ZD Racing 08425 4WD 1/8 scale buggy. Many of you ask about low cost RCs to get into the hobby, so I'm trying to find more of them to unbox and show you. This one looks promising based on the specs, but I'll reserve any formal opinion until I get out and drive it for a while. The build appears to be pretty beefy, so hopefully it will hold up to some abuse.

The Gearbest website says it will do 80kmh (around 50mph) and have a run time of 30 minutes. Both of those numbers seem a bit inflated to me, but I'm guessing it'll be quick and get the typical 15-20 minute run times I'm used to with most of my race/bash rigs.

I'll get it out on the track/trails for you guys soon!

VKar Bison Break Time - Best Break Ever! (3 min 22 sec)

Sorry if you felt misled by the title...but it's factual. The best way to spend a break is running an RC and the Bison is one of my favorites. Things are busier than normal for me, but I'm still finding time to run RCs. I might not have the time to film as much or do maintenance, but I'm running the rigs that are in good order - limited selection...haha. Today I did stop to film a little fun with one of my favorite rigs - the VKAR Bison. So cool to see so many people having fun with these things and a great community of people sharing tips and experiences. Gearbest is currently celebrating their 3rd anniversary...so I have a feeling there may be some flash sales to look for on the Bison.

Have fun RCing my friends!
