Last week I decided to start a project I have been thinking about for months now. For the past year or two, my wife and I have been planning our retirement. We want to retire early and currently are on track to do so, and in our retirement we want to sail the world on a catamaran. We've spent countless hours on the computer, tablet, phones or anything with an internet connection dreaming of life on the sea. But for now we'll just keep working towards those dreams. This is my first post on here and I am open to any comments or suggestions, but mainly just want to document this project and share it with anyone who may (or may not) be interested.

Now that you know a little about me, lets get back to the project.

As you can obviously tell from the tittle, I am working on a fully functional sailing catamaran. And I mean fully functional in every sense of the phrase. It will be able to raise and lower the main sail, furl and unfurl the head sail (and/or Code D/Code 0), launch and retrieve spinnaker or parasailor (sock method), tack or jibe under full sail, dual motors with variable thrust and rudders, navigation and cockpit lights (maybe underwater lights too), oh yeah, and be complete scale as it will be modeled after Fountaine Pajot's new Saona 47. Hell, I might even add a functional anchor and launchable dingy. Too many ideas going on right now and not enough logistics. LOL!!!
