Crash's Scratch-build Club

In this 71st installment, we discuss Dorsal's progress and newest acquisitions, a cool site I found (cardboard? REALLY?), Larry's Blue Foam Wonder (as featured in Park Pilot magazine!), the RCadvisor talks a bit about scaling down airplanes, and I offer up a couple more great suppliers of balsa kits (for Corey from last week's show).

As well, the cat is out of the bag! I've been kicking around the concept of online tutorials to help more people discover the magic that is balsa, but Fred (a very talented balsa builder) lit the fire beneath me so we're off. It's gonna be a great summer!!

Take the JUMP and check out this week's links and the Shopping List I mention in the show!

Letters (Engine Tuning, Kit Suggestions, and Desktop CNC)

In our 70th show, we dip into the ol' mailbag and share some listener emails. We talk a bit about engine tuning, some "real" kit suggestions, and some Desktop CNC options. Also, Carlos tells us about some things to consider when doubling the size of a model in this week's Ask The RCadvisor segment. Oh, and is there a hint in the air of something new and cool on the horizon? Hmmm....

The Micro PhlatFleet

After a long time without one, we're back with the PhlatBoyZ for an update on the state of things in PhlatLand. In this 69th installment you'll learn what's in stock, what's being repurposed for in-house production, and what's on the horizon, so be sure to tune in! Fear not, fellow RCadvisor fans, Carlos will be back again next week to unravel another RC Mystery.

A PhlatFormer Is Born!

It's been another busy week around here, but I've managed to squeeze in a couple of RC-related activities! First off, in this 68th installment I do a Mini Review on the PhlatBoyZ "PhlatFormer" Vacuum Forming Machine and then I tell a little about the SPAD e-PBF's I'm working on for SPADFest 2010. Do you have a "Spektrumized" 8103, 9303, or one of the 10 channel JR radios with a loose Spektrum module? If so, you'll certainly want the dope in this episode!!

Kites And Cakes

It's been a slow week on the RC front for me, but some airborne adventures were had when I took the family out for some kite flying at our local Kite Festival. My PhlatFormer arrived earlier this past week (with a couple of surprises in the box, too!), as well as my big order from HeadsUpRC, so you'll hear a bit about that, too!
