Saturday brought hot temps, almost 90! We had a decent wind, 10-15mph out of the South. This put us on the South side in the SE bowl. I unfortunately was in the middle of a move, couldn’t find my transmitters and chargers, so I was forced to shoot pictures only. My loss is your gain!

This weekend was a resounding "meh"! On the one hand we had a "bowl" wind out of the NE, but on the other hand there was not a consistent slope wind. The thermals that roared into the NE bowl were great. But the slope lift was not the promised 12mph lift band. Slermaling was the name of the game. Continuing on the theme of good/bad, Paul lost his Dynaflite Aristocrat behind the hill due to battery failure in a thermal. The upside was that it was found by one our members as he left the hill, intact!

Saturday was cold and bad direction. Bad direction? Yep, the winds were directly on the NW corner. As any slope pilot knows, you want the wind straight on. In spite of this, we actually got some great flying in. At least, when the wind shifted to the North or West for short periods.
We had two visitors from the West turn up. The West coast of FL that is. Fred Sanford and Brian Courtice from Punta Gorda showed to get some slope flying under their belts. In spite of the iffy wind direction, they had a good time, at least that’s what they told me…..LOL.
