The BFight210 is a pretty nice, light frame. The top plate did not hold up as well as I had hoped it would. Thank goodness for 3D printing.

Well, that certainly didn't take long. I thought it would be a least a couple more months till the QAV-X was cloned. The Chinese were pretty quick to clone the LS-210, but this one was way faster than I expected. I have a Realacc X210 with 4mm main plate on order. It is available in both 3mm and 4mm. We'll see how it looks once it shows up.

I picked up this frame because I haven't seen one in person with the square frame around the outside. I think the extra frame parts should give it enough strength that the main arms that extend from the middle section to the motors will be fine being a little thinner than normal. Also, I think the wind from the propellers should go around 3 smaller pieces of carbon fiber than it would around a larger/wider single arm.... maybe... I haven't tested it yet, I just think it should.

The Diatone 4045 props on the Tyrant 180 did real well at our last race. It held its own against the larger 210 and 250 faster quads. I was able to pull off a 3rd place. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the Tyrant 180. The smaller size makes it less prone to breaking. For the most part, when I do crash, I straighten the propellers and it keeps flying. It is a very strong frame.

I've been impressed by this Tyrant 180. I thought flying with 4045 props would be significantly weaker than 5045 props. Well, it hasn't turned out that way. On our race courses, if there are a lot of turns, the 4045 props were able to hold their own against the longer 5045 props. Now, I'm starting to like these 180 sized frames. Here are some videos about the Tyrant 180:

The GE-X240 is an awesome flyer. I'm hoping that it will bring my racing speed up a little for the courses with longer straight-aways. Here is a frame review of the quad, plus a couple of flight videos of it.

I'm currently working on several projects.
  1. My first 6S quad!
  2. EasyRaceLapTimer open source gate
  3. Getting my VDQ-210 back up and flying
  4. Building a Kreiger frame with EMAX red bottom motors
  5. Repairing my LS-210 frame with EpicRC 3200kv motors

I have a lot to finish.

Diatone's ZMR180 frame looks like a winner! The thing is built like a tank. I think it will be very hard to break it.

I took the mini tricopter outside to do some line-of-sight flying, and yes it is still awesome.

Finally finished! I'm hoping to compete against the larger 210 and 250 quads with this Deformation 130!! Here's a build review with Tuning and some flight footage. It's a long one!

With MultiGP.com removing KV restrictions on motors, it seems like everyone is moving to higher KV motors to get that extra bit of speed. I'm working on 3 new quads. One will have 2633kv motors, the next will have 3200kv motors, and the last will have EMAX's new RS2205 2300kv motors which have about 1024g of thrust on 4S+5045 props! This year is going to be crazy for quads!

Way back when I started flying, the idea of ground station seemed ridiculous especially since the FatShark goggles were so portable. However, now I'm starting to see the biggest advantage to a ground station.... "diversity". I've started working on my 2xdiversity ground station. I have the parts, now I just have to assemble them.

Anyone else been flying the LS-210? I really like it. I've been racing 4S races with it.

Sometimes you build a quadcopter that just feels rock solid. This is mine....

I started flying FPV almost 2 years ago with a set of FatShark Attitude V1 goggles. I've loved them. They have worked real well for me and I don't have any complaints against them. Recently, more and more people have been wanting to "ride along" so I thought about getting a second set. Instead, I decided to buy myself a set of Dominator HD goggles for the larger FOV and built in DVR and let the Attitudes be the "ride along" set. So far, I love them!

I have been mostly flying the simplecopter mini tricopter. Recently, I rebuilt a ZMR250 and flashed BLHeli on my 12amp Afro ESCs with OneShot enabled and tried using PID settings posted by Charpu. The ZMR flies so solid now. I'm still working on balancing one of my motors because I'm getting some Jello in my videos, but I really like it!

After flying the miniquad for some time now, I've built a simplecopter.com Mini Tricopter. It is awesome! The sidewalk cruising starts around 2:00 in this video. The first part is showing the mini tricopter:
