Going to be building a wing thanks to a generous friend of mine who hot wired me a 43" wingspan core the other day. I am going to be updating my progress as the build continues.

2/8/2013 Step 1: Last night I hot glued a 5/16 x 30" wooden dowel spar into the foam and covered the bottom half of the wing with masking paper. I have a huge learning curve to overcome, but all in all, it turned out fairly well.

2/10/13-2/11/13 Step 2: The last couple nights I spent covering the rest of the wing with the masking paper. I decided it would be easier to cut out the slots for the electronics if the paper was already installed and cured. I did much better the second time around.

2/12/13 Step 3: Tonight I cut the slots and wire run in the top side of the wing for my two servos. I cut 1.5 inches off of the trailing edge of the airfoil to use for my ailerons. I cut a 45 degree angle on the bottom side of the trailing edge of my airfoil in order for the ailerons to travel downward. I attached the ailerons onto the wing using 6 nylon hinges, 3 per side. I also installed my motor mount (3/8 square wooden dowel) with gorilla glue. I'm excited about how this project is turning out.

2/16/13 failed maiden flight haha. New build coming soon

Just thought I'd write a little something for my blog. I am fairly new to the RC world and I'm excited about some of the stuff I'm seeing! Really interested in getting into some of the long range FPV stuff! I'm actually in the middle of training for my private pilots license(single engine). There is nothing like flying the real deal, and it is what got me interested in RCing. So far I have two 3D helis(B-450 3D; B-MCP X v2), one plane(PZ Stinson Reliant SR-10), one surface(Traxxas Revo 3.3), and an assortment of intro 2-channel micro helis. I hope this blog finds you well! Happy flying and God bless!
