Acquiring this beautiful bird was a once-in-a-lifetime chance event. It is an all fiberglass aircraft made by Mankato Models, designed by Mike Stott. This aircraft was designed to mimmick the automobile in its ease of operation. The tail is a unique part in this development, as it has given the Ercoupe a "spinless" certification. The model will replicate the full-scale aircraft in as many aspects as possible. The full-scale Ercoupe used a mechanical "mixer" to activate the rudders in conjunction with the ailerons. The model will incorporate "master/slave" programming to achieve this function.

As the rudders only move outward, with their adjacent ailerons, and the elevator's travel is restricted, this plane will be very scale in flight as well as appearance.

I'm commencing this build blog with the aircraft in its acquired condition. Assembly and progress will follow...
