Recently received my Quadframes 2 axis brushless gimbal, wow am I impressed!

I knew that quad frames products were good after having so much success using their Gopro Brushless gimbal which has given me better results than the Zenmuse.

Once I received the gimbal from Quadframes US I started to put it together, it took me around an hour. It went together very easy using the supplied cnc'd wrenches

I'm still in the tuning process with the 3rd axis that I added, but the settings that quadframes has on there website makes the pitch and roll stabilization perfect for the Sony NEX5n with 18-55mm lens.

Overall i have never been so happy with a gimbal. I have used lots of them and this is the most well thought out gimbal I have used.

Thanks to Pawel and Jakub at Quadframes.

This year has been very exciting here at Eclipse Aerial Solutions.

We have been able to travel and meet lots of great people. This industry is getting bigger by the day and its very exciting for all of us. The FAA just released: http://www.faa.gov/news/updates/?newsId=75399#%21

Just wanted to share some of our highlights for 2013! Also wanted to do a shout out to everyone on RCG that has helped me get where I am today.

Thank You!

So me and my buddy decided to go up in the mountains in Northern California to test out his new Jeep Rubicon. I decided to bring my hexacopter to do a mock up of a Jeep Commercial since the terrain is so camera friendly.

We planned out the route he would take (somewhat) and I found a good high position that would allow me to have LOS to him so my Video and TX reception wouldnt get sketchy.

The video turned out good for a single flight without any retakes

Decided to head down to the track to see if I still have it riding Motocross. I grew up riding motocross and turned pro at 19. Due to injuries I went to college and ended my dream of being a pro motocross rider. After riding for the first time in a year I decided to do some aerial work with my hex.

By the way I did get the track owners permission and have full liability insurance on my multirotors.

So I decided I needed to figure out the best settings for shooting at night with the hero 3 black.

I tested 3 different modes:
1080 @ 60fps
1080 @ 48fps
1080 @ 30fps

The area I tested was a local community college that has lots of parking lot lights and classroom lights. All the test were done with auto WB and protune off.

I discovered that 1080 @ 60fps & 1080 @ 30fps were the best settings for night flying. @ 60fps there was a little bit more noise in the video then 30fps. This weekend I will be shooting a Run to Rave 5k run at night and will use the hero 3 with the team rebel designs brushless gimbal. I hope to be able to capture the runners for a promo reel.

Here is a photo that I took that turned out pretty well.
