The gym was good today and the CY was on point. All in all just good to get out and check out the crack yak again. Played around with the little 45-65C Thunder Power 325 mah packs and couldn't get that 5th minute of flight out of them so this vid is with a Blue lipo 25c 800mah and it flies mucho bettero. That's because the notch cut for the battery and CG was originally set for a 3S 450 mah battery. The 800 has a lot of room to run and you can run the bigger prop with 2S. That helps torque rolls some. Less punch but slower for indoor.
It's a pleasure for Aaron to crash into John Holbrook. He is a major reason that Aaron got into flying and he opened the door for Aaron by making him an honorary member at our local field. He's been flying god knows how long and lives at our field. What a great guy! Thanks John... but, here's Aaron flying the Crack Yak and flying right into you!!!
It is what it is. A last flight of the day and it was a nice one. Beautiful fall warm weather in the Northeast today. Good to have a 51 for Aaron to fly again. He was so at home on his old one and this is like a homecoming to have another one. The performance on the 3DHS 51 Slick is so great. What a valuable asset for a 3D pilot to have. Gets you warmed up for the 89 and 104...
Enjoy... Aaron maidened the NEW 51 today and he is going to LOVE the heck outta this thing. Thanks to Ralph for building it for him. In some ways he says it flies better than the old fantasy blue trim scheme Slick which was his favorite plane ever. Anyway... FUN FUN FUN when you can fly a nice 3D plane!!!
Indoor flying on a Dynamic Foamy D320 which is Bert's F3P type plane. It builds very easily and seems to fly very neat and clean. This was the maiden on this plane. We actually got the plane early this year but then indoor ended. Aaron built his own SFGs and put brakes on every surface... not that you are supposed to do that but he felt it would help the plane fly more slowly. So, it sat since March and came to life today. We are looking forward to flying and building this winter.
