I am now starting a long awaited repainting of my very favorite plane, the FMS Ki 61. I usually take this plane with me when I head out to fly.
With the weather not being conducive to flying, I am taking the time to do a repaint. I found that if I use the Krylon "metallic aluminum" paint, that a primer is not needed. So, my Callie Graphics arrived and I am all set to dive into this project

Always wanted to redo the "Snorting Bull" into Gabreski's P-47.
Day 1:
I started it today with sticker removal and used Acetone to remove the paint. Took me about an hour and I have the wing pretty well done.

Well, lots of paint and repainting...I finished my version of Gabreski's P-47. It has gone thru quite a bit of repaints, three to be exact
. I finished up the fuse Last winter and decided to take her up for a couple of flights. Well, did a roll with insufficient altitude and she sort of nosed into to ground. Only damage was the plastic cowl. So I put her back on the shelf and life got busy. Last week, insperation hit me and I finished up the paint job. New Dynam 4 blade prop and when the weather is good, I will take her out and see how well she flies.

I wish I had started this blog sooner. I am doing my first custom build of a Parkzone P-51 BL. Graphics are from Callie Graphics, excellent job as always. I started this project after receiving the airframe as a gift from my daughters. At this point I have completed all the paint and am preparing to do a landing gear install. This will be the most challenging stage to date. I have studied other blogs on this install and feel fairly confident.
