Trying to transition from flying a prop plane to an edf jet can be overwhelming and scary to some.
I think a successful transition can be made when given the correct guidance and support while learning this hobby. Luckily, my father in law has helped me greatly along the way. With 30 plus years experience he has taught me the " to do's " and " not to do's".
Having started on a 3 ch plane a few years ago I finally moved up to a 4 channel trainer called the Wing Tiger sold by Banana Hobby. I didn't get a chance to fly much after having my 1st plane just because of a lot going on with moving into a new home, getting married etc. Finally after settling down I could once again concentrate and improve my skills.
I go some stick time on the F18 70mm jet that I had purchased from Banana Hobby. My father in law helped with the build, the maiden flight, and the all important take off and landings.
I figured it was time to try a full flight for myself however I thought it might be a better idea to get a smaller edf jet to get started. I went and ordered the 50mm F-22 Raptor and have been flying this fun jet ever since.
I've got about 30 flights on it now and it's been a really good jet to learn from. I do suggest anyone transitioning into edf jets to consider going to this 50mm class. I think it is a great starting point.
Here are some videos of this product, once again purchased from Banana Hobby. I highly recommend the plane!
