Here's a few pictures of the AXN Floater Jet. It was a gift to my girlfriend to help get her into flying. She thinks it's pretty :-)

I've fancied it up for her a bit with some glow wire and led's.

Things I've added:
2x White Glow Wires
2x Blue Glow Wires
2x 500mm White LED strips
2x 500mm Blue LED strips
6x4x3 Prop
V-Tail mixer for Flaperons

The LED's came in 1 meter lengths. I cut them in half so there's 500mm on each wing. I'll put more on soon. Planning on lighting up the tail still.

It came with a 5x5 prop which flew surprisingly well. In the Tim Taylor more power style I stepped it up to a 6x4 APC which was alot faster. The 6x4x3 might be overkill but it doesn't heat anything up and I prefer balancing a 3 blade prop anyway.

The Flaperons are a must do modification. Very easy with a programmable radio or just with a V-Tail Mixer. I went with a mixer just to make programming easier. My TH9X works great but programming is time consuming. Without the Flaps down landings were really fast. Soft grass or frosted over snow was fine but the rough wild growth around Grande Prairie, Alberta was hell on it. With the Flaps down it floats in and can do a decent flared landing.

All in all a good plane but I wouldn't recommend it as a first plane. Pitches down on acceleration. Roll rate is REALLY slow. Inherently tail heavy and fly's like crap until you correct that.

Had some free time. Figured I'd put some videos up. Seems like the thing to do these days :-)

This is my 2 Meter Phoenix Glider. It was my first RC plane. It has been crashed many times and taught me many lessons. It was a basic 4 channel without flaps when it arrived. Few motors and things later it now boasts an NTM Prop drive 3530 1000kv @ 380W using a 12X6.5 folding prop. Turnigy 50A ESC & Castle Creations BEC. Added flaps and using a vtail mixer they are used as flaperons. Basically the flaps and ailerons move together all the time. When flaps are activated they come down but will still move with ailerons. Makes for really responsive roll rate and decently slow landings.

At first I just put a camera on it and took in flight video. It was nice but I wanted to go FPV

I've just added a Fatshark 5.8 Ghz RTF FPV System. It runs off a little 2 cell 480Mah battery. Whole system FPV system weighs about have of one main battery. Not really very heavy at all. Doesn't affect CG too much. Just have to move main battery back a bit.

3x DT750 Motors
Turnigy AE 25A ESC
11x4.7 SF Props*
1x KK Board V5.5
Turnigy 8 Channel Receiver

For detailed build info see

*Use the cheapest props that will balance ok. The cheap ones break easily which prevents damage to more expensive components. Cheap props are less that $1 ea.

This was my F18. Probably the most stable plane I've ever build. Good high speed, good high alpha. Crashed it when I tried a super low inverted pass for a friend.

Had the usual setup. Elevons(elevator split into aileron channel), Ailerons, Rudder. Airbrake(both rudders turn in) and Spoilerons(both ailerons go up).

It was awesome to fly. Elevators and Ailerons were connected and moved together. Made for super fast roll rate. When Spoilerons were activated the Ailerons came up but the Elevons(Elevators) stayed neutral for control....Continue Reading

This is or was my RCPowers F22. Made it too heavy. Had to fly it really fast even with a KF2. Ran it into a tree at full speed. Nose and battery went 50 feet into the bushes.
