I decided to try a blog.
I'll start with a little about myself.
I started flying control line planes 50 years ago when I was 11. I got out of the hobby for 45 years and re discovered the fun of RC flying. I started flying a lot about 6 years ago, mostly electric. I made a ton of mistakes and taught myself how to fly before joining the CSRA flyers club. I wish I would have found the club first as it would have saved me a lot of money and heart ache in crashed planes. I have continued to grow in the sport and now fly 33 % gas planes and have built a dozen or so ARF's,. Yes I know that an arf is not as cool as a kit but they suit my needs. I am currently trying to sell off my nitro stuff and moving towards gas planes. I still have my electrics and fly them often too. mostly when I don't have a lot of time to spend at the field. I am also vice president of a very fast growing club, when I joined there was 12 members, now we have 55. We have made a lot of improvements to the club in the last 4 years and even added a geo tech runway, covered pit area with picnic tables and now our most recent new addition a 10x20 storage container has been installed, we use it primarily for our field equipment since someone decided to take our lawnmower and anything that was not tied down for them selves. I hate a thief.
