A Buddy of mine gave me this Edge 540 and I am trying to find out what kit this is. If anyone knows what this is I would love to know. It has a mark inside the fuse that looks like a fancy "G" stamped in it.

So with another season in the books (almost) it's time to start thinking about some building. This winter I am steeping up a bit and plan on building a couple 1/4 scales and a couple 1.20 size planes. (Extra's Edge's and Yack's oh my...)

I have been busy cleaning the hanger in preperation of winter. I'm down to one table of parts.

Bring on the rain I don't care it's time to build. As far as flying I will still catch some flights on nice days.

I was just wondering if anyone out there is like me, This hobby seemes to be more of an addiction to me, than a hobby. I eat, sleep, and think about aircraft all the time. I fly most every day, as well as work in the shop most every morning. I can't even remember what it was like before this all started. So my question is: Is this a Hobby or an Addiction.

Try Try again. Well a good buddy of mine set me up with a loaner plane untill I can get a replacment 50cc. airframe. It has really helped ease the pain of loosing my Edge540t. I am so very lucky to be involved with such a great club. These guys are the best. Thank you so much Bill. (You the man). We will take her out and trim it on Monday, provided the wind stays calm.

After a year of working on this airplane it all came to a end on Sat. I got it running preaty good and decided to give it a go. So down the runway it went, liftoff a couple seconds later the radio lost contact with the plane. OMG it's on it's own. no control at all, the damn thing went up and looped twice then it went down. thank god it went down where it did and no one or any property got hurt. Turns out last week I lost a plane on the same radio, and I thought it was the reciver in the plane or the ESC. I have used this radio many times and have not had any probs with it. So I assumed it was the reciver. I should have range tested it before flying the Edge. I feel so bad I am almost SICK no crap...I am sitting here trying to decide whether or not to even continue in this hobby. I know it is part of the game to lose a plane once in a while, but this plane was my all. I'm pissed. my wife is pissed and I just don't know if I can continue with the giant scale stuff...The problem is once you get the taste it's hard to scale back down.

I think it's time to get my drunk on...

Well it had to happen... I muffed a landing. What happened is I took off and I guess my tail wheel caught part of the mat runway and it broke off leaving just a 1 inch stub hanging, so I decided to kill the engine on the landing so it would not do as much dammage to the plane or the runway. As I reached to hit the kill I bumped the high rate switch and the plane droped out of the sky from about 4 feet or so. As a result I had to take the plane home in two peices. it sat for a couple of weeks and then I cut into her. to make a long story short., she is ready for her re-maiden. hope it flys like it did...

So I'm at the field when Homer jumps in the Extra 260 and said he wanted to fly it , so I let him. When he landed he had to change his shorts. I got to say he flies like he stole it. DOH!!!

Well yesterday I took a couple of planes and tried some indoor flying with some of the guys in my club. We get a gym once a week for an hour, so I decided what the heck. I got to say it's not as easy as it looks. First off you need to stay on the stick all the time when flying, also if you need to do some trimming it is very hard due to the fact things happen very fast indoors. you almost need to hover to trim your plane. I was flying the 32" Yak and the 36" Extra, I really don't like flying inside, just not for me. I am not knocking it or anything, It's just not my bag of tea. I did have a great time hanging with the guys for a bit.
