Well I'm hooked. Last weekend I drove down to Clearview field, Ken Stitt's 1st class RC flying field, to meet up with some old friends and watch an areo tow event. I'm not sure which was better, seeing friends I haven't seen since the late 70s early 80s or seeing the scale sailplanes, electric sailplanes planes or just sitting around talking to the guys.
The scales were great, beautiful to watch, I have always been a fan. My new love is the TD ships, I was in awe!!! I watched as Randy McCleave hand tossed his Icon, never got above my head(I'm 6' 5") and went 75 to a hundred yards, man would have loved to have had a hang glider with that kind of performance back in the day!!! There was an electric AVA I think, I was thinking to myself why would you put a motor on a sailplane, now I know,it will stay up for ever.
My thanks to Ken for his wonderful flying feild, Pat for inviteing me down, Randy for the nice complement he paid me(was great to see you after so many years), Jim for shareing some of his vast knowledge (sorry for you slight misshap)and to all the other guys that were so great to hang with.
A special thanks to Truestorys, for pointing me in the right direction....

Friends, what would our lives be without them......C YA Stretch
